PIXEL - the Cambridge Undergraduate Journal of Development Economics is a student run journal committed to promoting research and writing by undergraduate students around the world in the field of development economics.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS IS ON-GOING - Deadline for the 2012 issue is September 1st.

The fourth issue examines 'alternative' as well as 'revisited' approaches to development, looking at the role of philanthropists in social welfare and an 'urban' approach to growth on the one hand and a reassessment of the issue of convergence on the other. In the face of the financial crisis, space is given to unusual, unconventional, different angles, considering theoretical as well as empirical outlooks.

"The new economic modes, towards which we are blundering, are, in the essence of their nature, experiments. We have no clear idea laid up in our minds beforehand of exactly what we want. We shall discover it as we move along, and we shall have to mould our material in accordance with our experience."

/John Maynard Keynes/
